Angela Okorie was reportedly re-arrested at Suleja Prison on Tuesday immediately after being granted bail.

This incident came less than an hour after actor Stanley Ontop sounded the alarm over a potential plan to re-arrest the actress following her release.

In an Instagram video, actress Doris Ogala, who said she was on her way to the police station, claimed that Angela was re-arrested by an unnamed Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) for allegedly refusing to pay the N5 million fee agreed upon to secure her bail.

Doris stated: “One thing is for someone to cut their clothes according to their size. Angela has been arrested again, and I’m heading to the police station now. When Angela was arrested by Mercy, she called a friend or someone from her village to help get a SAN.

“The SAN charged N5 million and facilitated the bail. Now that Angela learned bail had been granted, she reportedly refused to pay the fee, saying she didn’t ask for a SAN, even though the money had already been deposited.”

Angela had initially been granted bail on Friday following her arrest by Mercy Johnson over alleged defamation and had just regained her freedom after fulfilling her bail conditions.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
