It was a night of glamour, beauty, and elegance as Onyinyechi Basil from Anambra State was crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2025. The grand finale of the prestigious pageant took place on Saturday, September 30, at the Convention Center of Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The event, hosted by Anthony Abraham and Victory Wilson, featured 22 contestants from across the country. After weeks of activities and eliminations, the competition narrowed down to the top five finalists – Miss Anambra, Miss Lagos, Miss Ogun, Miss Akwa Ibom, and Miss Bayelsa.

Onyinyechi Basil impressed the judges with her confidence, intelligence, and grace, shining through different segments including swimwear, traditional attire, evening wear, and the question-and-answer round. Her performance earned her the coveted crown, making her the winner of the third edition of Miss Universe Nigeria.

Other winners of the night include:

Damilola Bolarinde (Miss Lagos) – First Runner-up

Fortune Kurobo (Miss Bayelsa) – Second Runner-up

Irene Ikediashi (Miss Ogun) – Third Runner-up

Idah Eno (Miss Akwa Ibom) – Crowned Miss Supranational Nigeria 2025

As the newly crowned queen, Onyinyechi Basil will now represent Nigeria at the 74th Miss Universe pageant scheduled to take place on November 20, 2025, in Bangkok, Thailand.

Her victory also comes with an exciting package of rewards, including a cash prize, material gifts, brand endorsements, training opportunities, and paid appearances.

The win is not just a personal triumph for Onyinyechi but also a proud moment for Anambra State, as she steps onto the global stage to showcase Nigerian beauty, culture, and talent.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
