A man in Anambra State, Ikechukwu Onyeanyusi, has recounted how he discovered that his wife, 36-year-old Anulika Onyeanusia, was allegedly sexually abusing their underage daughter. Onyeanyusi said he became aware of the alleged abuse after a friend showed him a video purportedly showing his wife using a sex toy on the child.

According to the husband, he was returning from his business on Thursday evening when his friend contacted him and showed him the video. He said he was shocked by what he saw and initially struggled to believe that the woman in the footage was his wife. Onyeanyusi said his friend had to calm him down after he became visibly distressed by the discovery.

He said he subsequently confronted his wife and asked her to explain the video, but she allegedly denied the accusation and claimed that the footage had been generated using artificial intelligence. Onyeanyusi said he remained unconvinced and later returned to his friend to question whether the video could actually have been manipulated using AI. Shortly afterwards, police officers arrived at the family’s residence, searched the premises and arrested his wife.

The husband said his wife later admitted the allegation while being questioned at the police station. He said the admission left him devastated, particularly because he had not previously suspected that she could engage in such conduct against their daughter. Police had earlier confirmed that the suspect was arrested on September 10 following intelligence about a disturbing viral video, while four children aged two, three, six and nine were rescued during the operation.

The Anambra State Police Command said the suspect remained in custody as investigators worked to establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged offence and determine whether other people were involved. Officers also recovered sex toys and other items considered relevant to the investigation. The police said the rescued children would receive appropriate care, protection, counselling and other support, while their identities and privacy would be protected throughout the process.
