AMUSAN THANKS GOD AFTER WINNING SILVER AT 2025 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
Nigeria’s sprint queen, Tobi Amusan, has credited God for her silver medal success at the 2025 World Athletics Championships.
Amusan stormed to second place in the women’s 100m hurdles, clocking 12.28 seconds, just behind Switzerland’s Ditaji Kambundji, who won gold with 12.24 seconds.
The 28-year-old’s achievement comes as a strong comeback after her disappointing outing at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she failed to meet expectations.
With this performance, Amusan made history as the second Nigerian to win multiple medals at the World Championships, joining the ranks of track and field icons Blessing Okagbare and Ese Brume.
Speaking after the race, an emotional Amusan reflected on her journey:
“It’s been God. The journey has been extremely rough. I’ve taken more L’s than wins and I’m just thankful that I have a great support system: my coach, my family, my mentors, my loved ones, and my fans.”
For Amusan, the silver medal is more than just a podium finish — it’s a story of resilience, faith, and determination.
