ALLI CELEBRATES LADOJA ON 82ND BIRTHDAY
The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has congratulated the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, on his 82nd birthday and first anniversary on the throne.
Alli, who represents Oyo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, described Ladoja as a statesman and traditional ruler whose career in public service and politics had contributed to the development of Ibadanland, Oyo State and Nigeria.
In a statement issued by his campaign organisation’s Director of Media and Publicity, Bisi Oladele, Alli said the monarch’s birthday and first coronation anniversary were occasions for the people of Ibadanland to celebrate his years of service.
He also commended Ladoja for his experience and knowledge of Ibadan’s history, culture and traditional institution.
According to Alli, Ladoja’s progression through the traditional hierarchy before becoming the 44th Olubadan had given him extensive experience in the affairs of the ancient city.
He wished the monarch continued strength, peace and many more years of service on the throne.
Ladoja was crowned the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland on September 26, 2025, following the death of his predecessor, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin. His first anniversary on the throne falls a day after his 82nd birthday.
The celebration comes as political activities continue to build ahead of the 2027 Oyo State governorship election, in which Alli is the APC candidate.
