Senate President Godswill Akpabio has called on political stakeholders and residents of Akwa Ibom State to support President Bola Tinubu and Governor Umo Eno ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Akpabio made the call during an event in Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area, where he commended the state government’s development projects.

He highlighted infrastructure projects in the state, including road construction, airport development and other ongoing facilities.

The Senate President said the projects had contributed to changes in the state’s infrastructure and economic environment.

He also expressed support for Eno’s administration and said political mobilisation would be carried out ahead of the 2027 elections.

Eno, in response, thanked Akpabio for his support and participation in several state projects.

The governor said his administration was implementing projects across the 31 local government areas of Akwa Ibom and planned to continue commissioning completed projects.

The statements come as political activities intensify across Nigeria ahead of the 2027 general elections, with political leaders and parties beginning to mobilise supporters and strengthen their structures.

Akpabio’s comments were made in his capacity as a political leader representing Akwa Ibom in the Senate.
