Rashidat Ajibade scored twice to hand the Super Falcons of Nigeria a commanding 2-0 win over Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses in an international friendly on Tuesday.

The match, held at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, Ogun State, saw Nigeria take control early, with Ajibade earning and converting a penalty in the 28th minute to open the scoring.

The Falcons continued to press for a second, with Ajibade—recently departed from Atlético Madrid—leading the charge. Despite Cameroon’s efforts to stay in the game, Nigeria doubled their lead just before halftime.

Omorinsola Babajide delivered a precise pass into the box, which Ajibade calmly slotted past the goalkeeper for her second goal of the day.

Cameroon showed more urgency after the break, growing into the game and attempting to mount a comeback. Their best chance came in stoppage time, but Nigeria’s goalkeeper—CAF’s reigning Female Goalkeeper of the Year—produced a brilliant save to preserve the clean sheet. The Super Falcons held firm to secure their 15th win over Cameroon in 21 meetings between the two sides. Originally scheduled as a two-match series, the fixture was reduced to a single game due to Cameroon’s delayed arrival in Nigeria.

The friendly serves as part of Nigeria’s preparations for the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), set to kick off next month in Morocco.
