Air Peace Makes History As First Nigerian Airline To Land In St. Kitts & Nevis
Air Peace, Nigeria’s largest airline, has marked a historic milestone by becoming the first Nigerian carrier to land at Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport in Basseterre, St. Kitts & Nevis.
In a statement released by the airline, the landmark flight occurred on Thursday, June 12, 2025, with a Boeing 777 aircraft making the journey. This made Air Peace the first Nigerian airline to be listed on the arrivals board of the St. Kitts & Nevis airport.
The special flight was organized for a Pan-African business conference in the Eastern Caribbean and transported a Nigerian delegation, reflecting Air Peace’s expanding international presence and strategic push into the global aviation market.
This latest trip marks Air Peace’s third entry into the Caribbean region within five years. The airline’s Caribbean operations began on December 21, 2020, with an 11-hour direct flight from Lagos to Montego Bay, Jamaica — the first of its kind between the two nations. Then, on August 5, 2023, a second milestone was achieved with a flight to V.C. Bird International Airport in Antigua & Barbuda, once again making Air Peace the first Nigerian airline to land there.
Now, the June 12, 2025 service to St. Kitts & Nevis completes a trio of Caribbean breakthroughs, connecting Nigeria directly to three key destinations in the region.
The historic flight was operated using one of Air Peace’s two Boeing 777 aircraft, which are also currently used on the airline’s daily Lagos–London Gatwick service launched on March 30, 2024—another significant milestone for a privately owned Nigerian airline.
Air Peace Chairman and CEO, Dr. Allen Onyema, has revealed that more long-haul jets are in the pipeline. In an April 2024 interview with Arise TV, he confirmed that the airline is finalizing new acquisitions to support future routes, including planned services to Houston, New York, and Abuja–London.
