A’IBOM, RIVERS POLICE COMMISSIONERS JOIN FORCES AGAINST PIRACY, KIDNAPPING, CULTISM

The Commissioners of Police in Akwa Ibom and Rivers states have pledged closer collaboration to combat piracy, kidnapping, cult-related violence, and other cross-border crimes affecting both states.

The commitment was made during a strategic security meeting aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two state police commands.

According to the police authorities, criminal groups often operate across state boundaries, making joint operations and intelligence sharing essential to effective law enforcement.

The commissioners emphasized the need for coordinated security efforts to disrupt criminal networks involved in maritime piracy, abductions, armed robbery, and cult activities.

They noted that enhanced collaboration would improve intelligence gathering, increase operational efficiency, and strengthen response capabilities in areas vulnerable to criminal activities.
