Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has promised to breathe new life into Kano Pillars Football Club and restore its place among Africa’s football elites — with ambitions that stretch far beyond the continent.

Musa, recently appointed General Manager of Kano Pillars by the Kano State Government under Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, made this vow during a familiarization meeting with the club’s Chairman, Alhaji Ali Muhammad Umar, and Board members on Monday.

Addressing the gathering, Musa spoke passionately about his plans to rebuild the club’s reputation and take it to new heights.

“Kano Pillars is our club and one of the most successful in Nigeria, but in recent years, the story has changed,” he admitted. “I want to assure everyone here that, with your support and the backing of the Board members, I will do everything possible to reposition the club and make it one of the finest not only in Africa but globally.”

The former Leicester City and CSKA Moscow star emphasized that his years of experience playing top-flight European football, combined with a deep knowledge of Nigeria’s domestic league, would be key assets in driving this vision. He called for unity, strategic planning, and unwavering commitment from management, players, fans, and partners alike.

According to the Media and Communications Directorate of Kano Pillars FC, Musa highlighted that this is the perfect moment to work diligently to globalize the club, a four-time Nigerian league champion that has recently struggled to maintain its dominance.
