AFRICAN PLAYERS IN EUROPE: JACKSON BRACE ENDS CITY’S PERFECT RECORD
Nicolas Jackson led the African stars making an impact in Europe at the weekend, scoring both goals as Aston Villa beat Manchester City 2–1.
The Senegal striker opened the scoring after six minutes, finishing from John McGinn’s pass. Erling Haaland equalised in the 52nd minute, but Jackson restored Villa’s lead eight minutes later after being set up by fellow Senegalese Ibrahim Mbaye.

Elsewhere in England, Burkina Faso winger Dango Ouattara scored his first goal of the season to earn Brentford a 1–1 draw at Hull City.
In Spain, Ghana international Inaki Williams scored Athletic Bilbao’s second goal in a comfortable 4–0 victory over Getafe.
Cameroon midfielder Andre-Frank Anguissa produced a spectacular bicycle kick for Napoli in their 3–3 draw with Roma in Italy.
In France, Ivory Coast’s Elye Wahi and Morocco’s Sofiane Diop scored as Nice recovered from behind to defeat Brest 2–1. Diop supplied the winner in the 83rd minute.
