AFRICAN MEDICAL CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE IN ABUJA EARNS GLOBAL LEED SILVER GREEN BUILDING CERTIFICATION FOR SUSTAINABLE INFRASTRUCTURE
Specialized tertiary healthcare facility secures international environmental recognition for energy efficiency, resource conservation, and eco-friendly design standards
The African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) in Abuja has earned the prestigious Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification under the Building Design and Construction program.
The international certification, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), recognizes the center's exceptional performance in sustainable building design, water efficiency, energy conservation, indoor environmental quality, and resource management.
Chief Executive Officer of AMCE, Brian Deaver, stated that the certification reflects the institution’s commitment to integrating operational efficiency, patient-centered care, and environmental sustainability directly into its core infrastructure.
Deaver emphasized that delivering world-class, specialized healthcare extends beyond advanced medical technology to encompass resilient facility operations that actively reduce carbon footprints, minimize waste, and enhance the well-being of patients, clinical staff, and visitors.
The landmark achievement establishes a new benchmark for healthcare infrastructure across Africa, reinforcing the institution's commitment to continuous environmental monitoring, resource optimization, and sustainable clinical operations as it expands its specialized medical services.
