Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu has delivered a bold message ahead of the Super Eagles’ 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) clash against Tunisia on Saturday night.

The Trabzonspor forward declared that Nigeria is determined to lift the AFCON trophy in Morocco, following their runner-up finish in the previous edition.

In a pre-match interview, Onuachu highlighted Nigeria’s reputation as a major footballing force in Africa.

“Nigeria is a big footballing nation. Tunisia is also strong, but we have quality players and a solid squad to take things to the next level,” Onuachu said.

“There are many tough teams in this tournament. I won’t single out Saturday’s game, but coming here, we already have it in mind that we’re here to win the AFCON.”

The victor of the Nigeria-Tunisia match will top Group C with six points from two games.
