Nigeria’s Super Eagles were eliminated from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after losing 4-2 on penalties to Morocco in Wednesday night’s semi-final.
The Eagles struggled to create clear scoring opportunities throughout the match and were unable to convert the few chances they had.
After 90 minutes, the score remained goalless, and even after extra time, neither side could break the deadlock, forcing the match to be decided by a penalty shootout.
Samuel Chukwueze and Bruno Onyemachi missed their spot-kicks for Nigeria, while Morocco successfully converted all theirs.
Morocco will now face Senegal in the final, while Nigeria will take on Egypt in the third-place playoff.
