The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has explained that several areas under its service in Abuja, Nasarawa, Niger, and Kogi are currently experiencing outages and reduced electricity supply due to limited energy from the National Grid.

The company disclosed this in a notice released on X on Friday, assuring that it is closely monitoring the situation and working to restore normal supply as soon as grid conditions improve.

“We are keenly aware of the low power supply and the outages currently affecting customers across our franchise area. While we strive to maintain a steady flow of electricity, some locations are experiencing significant disruptions due to limited energy from the grid.

“Our technical team is monitoring the situation in real-time and is fully committed to restoring normal service at the earliest possible time once our grid allocation improves,” AEDC stated.

Over the past few days, electricity supply in Abuja and surrounding areas has been inconsistent, affecting both homes and businesses.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
