The APC Youth Liberation Movement, a faction of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, has described the rumored defection of Governor Ademola Adeleke to the APC as a significant political advantage heading into the 2027 general elections.

In a statement signed by Comrade Ajasa Oluwaseun, the group's State Coordinator, the youth wing praised Adeleke’s strong political track record and growing popularity across the state. Ajasa recounted Adeleke's impressive electoral history, from his 2017 senatorial win to his 2022 gubernatorial victory, asserting that such a political heavyweight joining APC would fortify the party's chances in the next election cycle.

“Any move by Governor Adeleke to join the APC should be seen as a welcomed development... his defection would be a great asset to the APC ahead of 2027,” Ajasa said.

The group also condemned recent remarks by former Deputy Governor and APC chieftain Senator Iyiola Omisore, who allegedly referred to Adeleke as an "orphan". The youth movement labeled the comment divisive and unstatesmanlike, urging party leaders to promote unity rather than internal strife.

The statement urged party stakeholders to prioritize consolidation and inclusion as the APC strategizes for upcoming elections.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
