ADELEKE ORDERS PROBE INTO KOKA CHIEFTAINCY DISPUTE
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has ordered an investigation into the disputed kingship of Koka town in Obokun Local Government Area of the state.
The governor directed the probe as he commenced a short vacation in Europe, where he is also expected to undergo medical examinations. The state government said Adeleke travelled on Sunday after the recent governorship election.
Adeleke directed relevant authorities to examine the circumstances surrounding the emerging dispute and provide a report on the matter. The investigation is expected to help clarify the issues surrounding the traditional stool and support efforts to prevent the dispute from escalating.
The governor said his vacation was intended to allow him to rest and prepare to resume his duties with renewed focus.
According to the state government, Adeleke left Nigeria through the Lagos airport and is expected to visit the United Kingdom and other European destinations during the break.
The development comes as the state continues to address traditional and community matters that require government intervention.
The Koka kingship dispute has now been placed under official review, with the government expected to make further decisions after receiving the findings of the investigation.
