ADEBOYE URGES LAWYERS TO RELY ON JESUS FOR GUIDANCE
Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has urged lawyers and judges to seek divine guidance and make Jesus Christ their ultimate advocate and counsellor.
Adeboye gave the advice during the RCCG’s monthly thanksgiving service in Lagos, themed “Wonderful Counsellor,” where special prayers were offered for members of the Bench and Bar and their families.
The cleric said members of the legal profession were trained to advise and represent people in difficult situations, but described Jesus as an advocate whose wisdom and power were beyond human ability.
He said the roles of counsellors and advocates were particularly relevant to the Christian understanding of Jesus, whom he described as the embodiment of divine wisdom and as an advocate for believers before God.
Adeboye also highlighted several biblical names associated with Jesus, including Son of God, Lamb of God, the Resurrection and the Life, the Way, the Truth and the Life, Mighty God and Prince of Peace.
Speaking at the service, the RCCG Special Assistant to the General Overseer on Administration, Pastor Dele Balogun, urged lawyers and judges to seek God’s wisdom and courage in carrying out their professional responsibilities.
He also advised young lawyers to remain committed to their profession and not make financial gain their primary motivation.
The Chief Judge of Ogun State, Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu, who attended the service, also urged female judges to recognise the responsibility attached to their positions and seek divine wisdom and guidance, particularly ahead of the 2027 general elections.
