ADC BACKS ELECTRONIC TRANSMISSION OF RESULTS FOR 2027 ELECTIONS
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has thrown its weight behind calls for a legal framework that will make it compulsory for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to transmit election results electronically in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking in Abuja on Monday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said the move would help protect the integrity of Nigeria’s elections and restore public confidence in the process.
“If a legal framework that compels INEC to electronically transmit results is what will strengthen transparency in our elections, then the ADC will fully support it,” Abdullahi stated.
He stressed that credible elections remain the foundation of any democracy, and Nigerians must be assured that their votes truly count.
“Anything that guarantees that votes genuinely count is not just important but absolutely essential for the survival of democracy in Nigeria,” he added.
With this stance, the ADC joins a growing number of voices pushing for reforms to make Nigeria’s elections more transparent, accountable, and credible ahead of 2027.
