The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has criticised the administration of Bola Tinubu over what it described as budget confusion, weak project implementation, and repeated policy reversals.

In a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party alleged that since 2024, Nigeria’s budgeting process has become distorted, with multiple budgets running concurrently without adequate implementation.

The ADC claimed that capital releases have lagged significantly, arguing that key sectors such as power, communications, education, and health have recorded low implementation rates. At the same time, the Ministry of Defence reportedly exceeded its budget allocation due to emergency funding.

According to the opposition party, the situation contradicts earlier assurances by President Tinubu that capital components of the 2024 and 2025 budgets would be concluded by March 31, 2026. The ADC described the explanation that overlapping budgets are part of a deliberate transition strategy as untenable.

The party further accused the government of excessive borrowing despite claims of improved revenue and foreign reserves, questioning why infrastructure projects remain stalled and contractors remain unpaid. It also decried worsening insecurity and rising poverty levels across the country.

The statement added that frequent policy reversals and controversial appointments since the administration took office reflect what it termed a governance style driven more by politics than effective public service delivery.
