State government rolls out physical security upgrades for vulnerable educational facilities alongside a major recruitment drive aimed at bolstering basic education workforce standards

The Adamawa State Government has

commenced the construction of perimeter fences around vulnerable educational institutions across the state as part of proactive measures to curb emerging security threats.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri announced the security upgrade initiative alongside plans to recruit an additional 3,000 teachers to strengthen basic education delivery.

According to state authorities, rural schools located in vulnerable corridors are being prioritized for perimeter fencing to safeguard students and academic infrastructure from unauthorized access and external security risks.

The administration emphasized that physical fortification goes hand-in-hand with human capital development, noting that the upcoming recruitment exercise will build upon previous phases that recently absorbed thousands of educators into the public school system.

Education sector stakeholders have commended the dual approach, stating that securing learning environments while addressing teacher deficits is essential to restoring public confidence and ensuring uninterrupted academic calendars across the region.
