At least 12 people were killed when suspected terrorists attacked Nzangula village in Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The attack occurred in the early hours of Monday in Guyaku Ward, according to the chairman of Gombi LGA, Markus Ishaya. He said two other victims were injured and receiving treatment at the Cottage Hospital in Gombi.

Ishaya also said a woman was abducted during the attack, while an EYN Church, three houses and two shops were vandalised or burnt.

The incident came barely two weeks after another deadly attack in Hong Local Government Area of the state, highlighting continued security concerns in parts of Adamawa.

Residents said the attackers invaded the community in the early hours, leaving several families affected by the violence. Earlier reports had put the death toll at 11 before local authorities confirmed that 12 people had been killed.

The latest attack has renewed concerns about the safety of communities in Gombi and other parts of Adamawa, with residents calling for stronger security measures to prevent further attacks.
