ADAMAWA ASSEMBLY SPEAKER DISMISSES RUMOURS OF LEAVING APC
The Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly has rejected reports suggesting that he is preparing to leave the All Progressives Congress for another political party ahead of the 2027 general elections. He described the speculation as unfounded and maintained that he remains committed to the APC.
The Speaker said the rumours were being circulated without any credible basis and urged members of the public and political supporters to disregard them. He stressed that there had been no decision or arrangement on his part to abandon the APC, despite increasing political realignments and defections across the country ahead of the 2027 polls.
He also appealed to his supporters and party members to remain calm and focused, saying political rumours should not be allowed to create unnecessary tension within the party. According to him, his continued association with the APC should be judged by his actions and public statements rather than claims attributed to unnamed sources.
The denial comes at a time when politicians across the country are reassessing their political alliances ahead of the next general election. Several high-profile defections and negotiations have already taken place, making claims about possible movements by serving lawmakers and political office holders a frequent feature of the emerging 2027 political contest.
The Adamawa Speaker's position is expected to put to rest, at least for now, speculation about his political future. He reiterated his commitment to the APC and urged party supporters to concentrate on strengthening the party while preparing for the challenges of the forthcoming elections.
