ADAMAWA APM GOV CANDIDATE PICKS EX-NNPCL MANAGER AS RUNNING MATE
The Allied Peoples Movement has unveiled retired Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited senior executive Safriel Glah as the running mate to its Adamawa State governorship candidate, Abdulrahman Haske, ahead of the 2027 election.
Glah was presented as the party’s deputy governorship candidate at a media briefing in Abuja on Monday.
The APM said the ticket was intended to combine Haske’s private-sector background with Glah’s more than three decades of experience in the public sector and oil and gas industry.
Speaking at the event, Haske described the choice of Glah as a strategic decision based on competence, integrity, experience and public service.
He said Glah’s career in public administration, engineering management, environmental governance and institutional leadership would complement his own experience in entrepreneurship, investment and private-sector leadership.
“Our partnership represents a convergence of complementary strengths,” Haske said, adding that the combination of public-sector experience and private-sector innovation would support his team’s plans for economic growth, job creation and improved service delivery.
Haske said the partnership would focus on what he described as transforming the fortunes of Adamawa State and promoting shared prosperity.
Glah spent more than 34 years in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry before retiring as General Manager and Head of Environment, Health, Safety and Environment at NNPCL.
She is also a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and has professional experience in engineering, sustainability, leadership development and community service.
Accepting the nomination, Glah thanked the APM leadership and the people of Adamawa State for the confidence placed in her.
She said her professional career had taught her that effective leadership required responsibility, teamwork and measurable results.
“As Deputy Governorship Candidate, I will support my principal, complement his leadership and work with our team to promote a vision of inclusive development, opportunity, accountability and sustainable progress for Adamawa State,” Glah said.
She also described politics as a platform for unity rather than division and pledged her loyalty and commitment to the APM ticket.
“To the people of Adamawa State, I am ready to listen, ready to work and ready to serve,” she said.
The APM National Chairman, Yusuf Dantalle, said the party deliberately selected a ticket that combines Haske’s entrepreneurship, innovation and economic vision with Glah’s public-sector and institutional experience.
The Adamawa State Chairman of the party, Badejo Bello, also said Glah’s management and public-service background complemented Haske’s experience in business, youth empowerment and enterprise development.
Haske joined the APM earlier this month after leaving the All Progressives Congress and was subsequently presented as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 Adamawa election.
The party said the Haske-Glah ticket would focus on economic growth, governance and inclusive development as preparations for the 2027 governorship election continue.
