Nollywood actor Shawn Faqua and his partner, event planner Sharon Ifunanya Maduekwe, have made history by holding Nigeria’s first-ever wedding ceremony aboard a moving train.

The unique celebration took place on the Lagos–Ibadan train, which was beautifully transformed into a wedding venue complete with floral décor, bridesmaids, groomsmen, and officiating ministers—all while the train was in motion.

In a celebratory post, the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) hailed the couple for their creativity and innovation, sharing photos and videos from the event.

“From lovebirds to locomotives, we’re keeping things on track. History made — the first-ever wedding on a moving train in Nigeria. Proof that the journey can be just as beautiful as the destination,” the NRC wrote.

The intimate ceremony was attended by close family members, friends, and industry colleagues, and has since gone viral on social media.

Fans and well-wishers across Nigeria have flooded the internet with congratulatory messages, praising the couple’s originality and adventurous spirit.

The event not only marks a milestone in Nigerian wedding culture but also showcases how creativity continues to redefine celebrations in the entertainment industry.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
