ACTOR FEMI ADEBAYO OVERJOYED AS OAU STUDENT DEDICATES RESEARCH PROJECT TO HIS MOVIE SEVEN DOORS
Nollywood star and filmmaker Femi Adebayo has expressed heartfelt joy after a student of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), identified as Oyindamola, dedicated her final-year research project to his critically acclaimed movie, Seven Doors.
The actor took to his social media pages to celebrate the rare academic recognition, sharing photos from his visit to the university where he met with the student in person.
Oyindamola’s research project, titled “The Aesthetics of Oral Performance in Femi Adebayo’s Seven Doors,” explores the artistic and cultural depth of the film, analyzing its use of traditional oral storytelling techniques and performance elements.
In an emotional post, Femi Adebayo — who is also the son of veteran actor Adebayo Salami — expressed gratitude for the honour and reflected on how his passion for acting has evolved into a source of academic inspiration.
“From taking acting seriously… to becoming a subject of study. Everything came full circle when I met Oyinda at Obafemi Awolowo University, as she presented her research on The Aesthetics of Oral Performance in Femi Adebayo’s Seven Doors,” he wrote.
“Grateful to see my art echo beyond the stage – into academia. What started as passion and discipline has now become a movement of its own. I feel honored and motivated to keep giving my best.”
Fans and colleagues have since flooded the comment section with congratulatory messages, praising the actor for creating works that not only entertain but also contribute to cultural and academic discourse.
