ACT NOW TO FREE 176 KWARA ABDUCTEES, NDC TELLS ABDULRAZAQ
The National Democratic Coalition (NDC) has called on Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to take urgent steps to secure the release of 176 persons reportedly abducted across the state.
The coalition expressed concern over the rising incidents of kidnapping and insecurity, urging the state government to strengthen security measures and intensify efforts to rescue those still in captivity.
According to the group, protecting the lives and property of residents remains one of the primary responsibilities of government, stressing that the situation requires immediate and coordinated action.
The NDC also appealed to security agencies to increase surveillance, improve intelligence gathering, and work closely with local communities to combat criminal activities.
It called on the state government to provide adequate support for affected families while ensuring that efforts to rescue the victims remain a top priority.
The coalition warned that prolonged insecurity could negatively affect economic activities, education, and the overall well-being of residents if decisive measures are not taken.
Security analysts have continued to advocate stronger collaboration among federal and state security agencies, traditional institutions, and community leaders to tackle kidnapping and other violent crimes.
The group urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by providing credible information that could assist ongoing operations.
It also called for sustained investment in security infrastructure and preventive strategies aimed at reducing criminal activities across the state.
The NDC expressed hope that coordinated efforts by government and security agencies would lead to the safe rescue of the abductees and improved security across Kwara State.
