AC Milan bounced back from their recent loss to Arsenal with an impressive 4-2 win over Liverpool in a pre-season friendly played on Saturday afternoon in Hong Kong.

Just days ago, the Italian giants suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Arsenal in Singapore. But against Liverpool — the reigning Premier League champions — Milan delivered a sharp, counter-attacking performance that left fans entertained and hopeful for the new season.

Rafael Leão got things rolling for Milan, bursting down the left wing and calmly slotting in the opener. Liverpool responded quickly, with Dominik Szoboszlai drawing them level with a fine finish.

However, Milan soon regained control. Goals from Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Noah Okafor put the Italians 3-1 ahead, as their pace and precision caught Liverpool off guard. Though Cody Gakpo gave the Reds a glimmer of hope with a looping header to make it 3-2, Okafor struck again to seal the victory for Milan.

Despite the loss, Liverpool continue their pre-season tour in Asia and will next face Yokohama F. Marinos in Japan on Wednesday.

For both teams, the friendly provided valuable minutes and lessons ahead of the new campaign. But for Milan, it was a clear statement — they’re warming up nicely.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
