ABUJA ROTARY CLUB RE-ELECTS ORAMAH AS PRESIDENT

The Abuja Rotary Club has re-elected Mr. Godwin Oramah as its president for a second term, citing his outstanding leadership and commitment to the club’s humanitarian and community development projects.

The election, which took place on Friday during the club’s annual general meeting, was conducted in line with Rotary International’s guidelines. Oramah, a seasoned administrator and philanthropist, secured the overwhelming support of members who praised his innovative approach to service projects during his first term.

In his acceptance speech, the re-elected president expressed gratitude to the members for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to build on the successes of the past year. “I am honoured to serve again. Together, we will expand our impact in education, health, and community development. Rotary is about service above self, and we will continue to touch lives positively,” Oramah stated.

Key projects executed under his leadership include the renovation of several public schools, provision of medical equipment to rural health centres, and empowerment programmes for women and youths. The club has also been actively involved in environmental sustainability campaigns and polio eradication efforts.

The District Governor of Rotary International District 9121, Mr. Chukwudi Okeke, commended the club for its unity and the smooth re-election process. He urged the leadership to sustain the momentum and expand its reach to more communities in the Federal Capital Territory.

Members of the club described the re-election as well-deserved, noting Oramah’s dedication and ability to mobilise resources for meaningful projects. The new leadership is expected to focus on digital innovation in service delivery and stronger collaboration with other Rotary clubs and development partners.
