ABIODUN APPROVES RECRUITMENT OF 1,000 ADDITIONAL AMOTEKUN OPERATIVES IN OGUN
Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has approved the recruitment of 1,000 additional personnel into the State Security Network Agency, popularly known as the Amotekun Corps.
The announcement was made in a statement issued on Monday by the Corps Commander, Brigadier General Alade Adedigba (retd.), who explained that the move is aimed at strengthening community-based security operations across the state.
Adedigba noted that the 2026 recruitment exercise follows the enlistment of nearly 1,300 operatives in the previous year. He added that the new recruits are expected to enhance the Corps’ operational capacity across the 20 local government areas, with particular focus on rural communities, border corridors, and other vulnerable hotspots.
He advised prospective applicants to carefully review the eligibility criteria, documentation requirements, and physical standards before submitting their applications. According to him, the application portal will be open from Thursday, February 26, to Friday, March 13, 2026.
“This recruitment initiative reflects the state government’s strategic security vision to consolidate gains in crime prevention, rapid response operations, and intelligence-driven grassroots policing, following the recruitment of nearly 1,300 operatives last year,” he said.
He further disclosed that interested candidates are to apply free of charge through the official website, ogunstateamotekun.com.ng.
Adedigba also announced that a comprehensive screening exercise will hold from Monday, March 23, to April 8, 2026, urging applicants to prepare adequately and strictly adhere to the provided guidelines to ensure a smooth process.
The Corps Commander emphasized that the recruitment exercise is free, open, and strictly merit-based, warning the public to avoid scammers or unauthorized individuals requesting payment in connection with the process.
