The Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Abia State, Dr Kelechi Anosike, has promised to establish a monthly public forum where residents could present their concerns directly to the government if elected in 2027.

Anosike said the proposed “Meet-Your-Governor” forum would bring residents together with the governor, deputy governor, police, Department of State Services and other relevant officials.

He said the initiative would promote accessibility and allow government officials to hear complaints directly from residents and work towards resolving them.

The PDP candidate made the pledge at his campaign office in Umuahia while receiving members of the Kelechi Anosike G’eme Karia Movement.

Anosike said his administration would be based on people-centred governance and criticised what he described as barriers that sometimes prevent citizens from accessing government officials.

He also restated his plan to establish a microfinance bank in Aba that would provide interest-free loans to residents.

The candidate said economic empowerment would form part of his proposed administration’s policies and pledged that such programmes would reach communities across the state.

The proposals form part of Anosike’s campaign plans ahead of the 2027 Abia governorship election.
