ABIA GOVT DISOWNS LAND SUMMIT NEAR NSULU AIRPORT PROJECT
The Abia State Government has made it clear that it is not involved in the so-called “International Summit on Lands, Estates and Properties” scheduled to hold in Nsulu Kingdom, Isiala Ngwa North LGA, where the state’s International Airport project is sited.
In a public announcement signed by the Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Mr. Chaka Ikenna Chukwumerije, the government said it has no connection to the event and warned residents and investors to be cautious.
Mr. Chukwumerije explained that all land acquisitions related to the Abia International Airport project have already been completed by the government. He warned that anyone attempting to buy or sell land around the project area without going through the proper channels is doing so at their own risk.
He advised the public to make all land-related inquiries at the Ministry of Lands and Housing at the State Secretariat in Ogurube Layout, Umuahia, to avoid legal or financial trouble.
The announcement comes amid concerns from some community members over compensation and land size issues in the proposed Nsulu Airport City. In response, the government insists that it has already paid compensation, reduced the size of lands acquired, and plans to employ locals once the Airport City is developed.
The state urged the general public to verify land transactions and avoid being misled by unofficial gatherings or unauthorized land summits.
