Tragedy in the UK: Nigerian Woman, Nkiru Chima, Found Dead with Multiple Stab Wounds in London Apartment

A 60-year-old Nigerian woman, Nkiru Chima, has been tragically found dead in her apartment in Romford, United Kingdom, with multiple stab wounds.

According to a statement released by the UK Metropolitan Police, officers were alerted around 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 27, following a distress report received from the British Transport Police. The report raised concerns for a woman’s welfare at an address on Bushy Close, Romford.

When police arrived at the scene, they discovered Chima’s lifeless body, and she was pronounced dead shortly after.

“Officers located a woman at the address with multiple stab wounds; she was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. She has since been named as 60-year-old Nkiru Chima from Romford,” the police confirmed.

In a shocking twist, investigators believe her death is linked to that of a 20-year-old man who died on the train tracks at Romford Station earlier that same evening.

Detective Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke, leading the investigation, said:

“As our enquiries have progressed, we are confident that Nkiru’s tragic death is connected to the death of a 20-year-old man… This man was known to Nkiru.”

Although full details are still unfolding, police suspect a domestic or personal link between the two deaths and are continuing investigations to establish the full circumstances.

The Metropolitan Police has also called on the public to assist with any information that could aid the case.

The news has left both the Nigerian community and residents in Romford in shock. Friends and neighbors describe Nkiru as a quiet, warm woman who kept to herself.
