50 ABUJA IDP YOUTHS COMPLETE DIGITAL SKILLS PROGRAMME

No fewer than 50 youths from Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps in the Federal Capital Territory have successfully completed an intensive digital skills training programme.

The graduation ceremony, held on Tuesday in Abuja, was organised by a coalition of NGOs in partnership with tech firms and the FCT Social Development Secretariat.

The beneficiaries acquired skills in web development, graphic design, digital marketing, and basic coding — competencies expected to enhance their employability and entrepreneurship prospects.

Speaking at the event, the Coordinator of the programme, Mrs. Aisha Abdullahi, highlighted the importance of empowering displaced youths with modern skills.

“These young people have shown remarkable resilience. Equipping them with digital tools is a step towards restoring their dignity and integrating them into the society,” she said.

One of the graduates, 22-year-old Fatima Yusuf, expressed gratitude, noting that the training has given her hope for a brighter future.

Officials revealed plans to scale up the initiative to benefit more IDP youths across the FCT.
