272 POLICE CONSTABLES PASS OUT IN JIGAWA, CP WARNS AGAINST MISCONDUCT, ABUSE OF POWER
The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has charged its newly inducted officers to uphold integrity, discipline, and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
The Jigawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Dahiru Muhammad, gave the charge while addressing 272 newly passed-out police constables at the State Police Headquarters in Dutse.
The commissioner congratulated the officers for successfully completing their rigorous training and officially joining the ranks of the Force, describing their induction as the beginning of a life dedicated to selfless service, discipline, and public safety.
“This achievement emphasizes that your successful passing-out marks the beginning of a life dedicated to selfless service, discipline, and unwavering commitment to public safety,” he said.
Muhammad reminded the officers that the police uniform represents trust, authority, and responsibility, stressing that citizens expect them to embody the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
“You are now ambassadors of the Nigeria Police Force. Your uniform is not just an attire; it is a symbol of trust, authority, and responsibility. The people of Jigawa State and indeed, Nigeria, look up to you to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity,” he added.
The police commissioner also cautioned the new constables against misconduct, corruption, or abuse of power, noting that the command under his watch maintains zero tolerance for unprofessional behavior.
“Your actions on the field will reflect on the entire institution. You must resist any temptation to compromise your values. This uniform must never be used to intimidate, harass, or extort the people you are sworn to protect,” Muhammad warned.
He emphasized that the new constables must adhere to the Force’s core values of discipline, loyalty, courage, and respect for human rights, adding that their conduct will play a crucial role in restoring public confidence and improving community security across Jigawa State.
