21-YEAR-OLD WOMAN ARRESTED FOR STABBING PARTNER TO DEATH IN DELTA
The Delta State Police Command has arrested a 21-year-old woman, identified as Bina, for allegedly stabbing her live-in partner to death after a heated argument.
Confirming the incident in a video shared on his official X handle, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, revealed that the suspect had been cohabiting with the deceased, a 34-year-old man, for the past four years.
In the video, Bina admitted to the crime, explaining that the confrontation turned violent, leading her to stab her partner in the chest. Sadly, the man did not survive the attack.
The young woman also disclosed that she has two children with the deceased and had been living with him since the age of 17, despite no formal marriage rites being performed.
Reacting to the case, SP Edafe expressed concern over the circumstances that led to the tragedy.
“Now she had a fight with him, stabbed the guy in the heart and killed him. Who do you blame? The girl, the society, or her parents who gave her out at 17 without a bride price?” he lamented.
He further noted that despite her fluent English, Bina’s education ended in SS2, raising broader questions about parenting, early cohabitation, and societal neglect.
The case has sparked conversations online about underage relationships, domestic violence, and the role of family and community in preventing such tragedies.
