2027: WIKE’S WORDS DON’T MATTER – NIGERIANS WANT REAL CHANGE, SAYS OSHOMA
As Nigeria looks ahead to the 2027 general elections, legal expert Liborous Oshoma says the opinions of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike are “inconsequential,” arguing that what Nigerians truly want is a genuine political alternative.
Speaking on Arise TV’s The Morning Show on Monday, Oshoma said Wike would likely have been part of the emerging opposition coalition if he wasn’t serving in the current APC-led government.
“There are certain individuals whose statements I no longer take seriously,” Oshoma said. “Wike has spoken from both sides of his mouth too many times. If he wasn’t part of the APC cabinet, he would probably be backing the opposition right now.”
Oshoma added that the ruling party’s reaction to the formation of a new coalition reveals their concern. “If the APC wasn't worried, Wike wouldn’t feel the need to tell Nigerians to ignore the coalition,” he said.
His comments come amid growing discussions about a possible third force or mega coalition to challenge the APC and PDP in the next election cycle, as many Nigerians express dissatisfaction with the current political landscape.
