2027: WE WILL KILL WHOEVER RIGS – OMO-AGEGE

Former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege has threatened violence against anyone who rigs the 2027 general election.

Omo-Agege, who is seeking the Delta Central Senatorial seat on the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, made the remarks at a political gathering.

“Anybody who rigs the election on that day, we will kill him!” he said.

He accused election riggers of undermining voters’ future and that of their children. He also suggested that electoral disputes would be met with confrontation rather than court action.

“There’s no court this time. We’re going to fight,” he added.

The remarks come as Omo-Agege seeks a return to the Senate after leaving the All Progressives Congress.

He previously contested the Delta governorship election under the APC but lost to Sheriff Oborevwori, who won on the Peoples Democratic Party platform before subsequently joining the APC.

According to the report, Omo-Agege later sought the APC’s Delta Central senatorial ticket but lost to incumbent Senator David Dafinone. He then joined the NDC and pledged to challenge Dafinone.

Announcing his move in May, Omo-Agege said the decision followed consultations with political associates, supporters and community stakeholders. He described the NDC as a platform through which he hoped to advance the interests of Delta Central.

The report did not include a response from security agencies or electoral authorities to his threat.
