2027: TINUBU’S PROJECTS WILL WIN VOTES FOR APC, SAYS YILWATDA NEWS

APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu’s infrastructure projects will strengthen support for the party in the 2027 elections.

Speaking during an inspection of ongoing work on the Akwanga–Jos–Gombe section of the Trans-Sahara Superhighway on Saturday, Yilwatda described the projects as an “unbeatable campaign asset.”

He said voters would be able to judge the administration through visible improvements in transport, security and economic activity.

According to Yilwatda, the road project is intended to connect communities, improve access to markets and strengthen links between different regions.

He also outlined planned safety features for the Akwanga–Jos corridor, including surveillance cameras, lighting, police outposts and emergency trauma clinics.

“This is connecting communities. This is connecting customers, connecting markets, connecting people, improving security,” he said.

Yilwatda argued that the corridor had received insufficient attention for decades and praised the administration’s financial commitment to its reconstruction.

He said the concrete road was being designed for long-term durability, although his claim that it could last more than 100 years without repairs was not supported by technical evidence in the report.

Providing a construction update, project representative James Baba said heavy equipment had been deployed to the Jos axis and approximately 400 metres of rigid pavement had been completed.

He said the contractor was targeting about 10 kilometres of earthwork before Christmas, with a further 30 kilometres expected in 2027.

Those figures represent construction targets rather than completed stretches. The project remained ongoing at the time of the inspection.
