2027: PDP MEETS INEC DEADLINE ON OMITTED CANDIDATES
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says it has completed the corrections needed to address the omission of some candidates from the Independent National Electoral Commission’s published list ahead of the 2027 elections.
The party’s National Organising Secretary, Captain Umar Bature (retd.), confirmed on Sunday that the corrections were made before INEC’s October 24 deadline.
Those affected include the party’s governorship candidates in Gombe and Ogun states, alongside about six or seven House of Assembly candidates.
Bature said the party had acted within the period provided by the electoral commission to resolve the omissions.
“Yes, we met the deadline since,” he said.
His response provides an update for the affected candidates whose names were missing from the published list.
However, the information provided did not include confirmation from INEC that an updated list reflecting the corrections had been released.
