2027: LANLEHIN, ADEDOJA LEAD OYO APC RECONCILIATION

Prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders in Oyo State, Sen. Teslim Lanlehin and Chief Joseph Adedoja, have taken the lead in efforts to reconcile aggrieved members of the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The two leaders convened a meeting with key stakeholders on Friday in Ibadan, where they appealed for unity and collective effort to strengthen the APC in the state. They emphasised that internal division could jeopardise the party’s chances in the upcoming polls and urged members to put personal interests aside for the greater good.

Sen. Lanlehin, a former senator and influential figure in Oyo APC, said the reconciliation process is aimed at healing rifts and building a formidable front. “We cannot afford to go into 2027 divided. It is time to come together, forgive past grievances, and work as one family for the progress of our party and the state,” he stated.

Chief Adedoja, who also played a key role in the meeting, echoed similar sentiments, calling for genuine reconciliation that addresses the concerns of all aggrieved members. “The APC in Oyo State has the potential to regain lost grounds. Reconciliation is the way forward,” he added.

Several party chieftains at the meeting welcomed the initiative and pledged their support for a united APC. They agreed to set up a reconciliation committee to engage with all factions and ensure that no member is left out.

Political observers believe the move by Lanlehin and Adedoja could help stabilise the party in Oyo State, especially as the countdown to 2027 begins. The PDP, which currently controls the state, is expected to face a stronger challenge if the APC successfully resolves its internal differences.

The reconciliation efforts are expected to continue in the coming weeks, with more meetings planned across the state’s senatorial districts. The APC leadership expressed optimism that the party will emerge stronger and more united after the process.
