Former Minister of Information and Orientation, Professor Jerry Gana, has revealed that ex-President Goodluck Jonathan will contest in the 2027 presidential election.

Gana made this known while addressing journalists in Minna, the Niger State capital.

He stated that Jonathan would emerge as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flagbearer in the next presidential election.

According to him, Nigerians, having experienced governance under two other leaders after Jonathan, are now yearning for his return.

“In 2015, former President Goodluck Jonathan declared that his ambition was not worth the blood of Nigerians,” Gana recalled.

“Since then, another President has governed for eight years, and the current one has ruled for two years. Nigerians have seen the difference, and it is very clear. Many are now demanding that we bring back our friend, former President Goodluck Jonathan.

“I can confirm that Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will contest the 2027 presidential election as the PDP candidate, and we must prepare to support him so he can return as President again,” he added.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
