2027: IGNORE DISTRACTIONS, FOCUS ON DELIVERING PROMISES — ADEWALE TELLS APC

Political analyst Ayodele Adewale has urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) to avoid getting distracted by the formation of opposition coalitions ahead of the 2027 general elections, stressing that the ruling party should instead stay focused on delivering good governance.

Speaking on Thursday during TVC’s breakfast political programme, Adewale addressed the recent buzz around the coalition under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and its potential impact on Nigeria’s political landscape.

“From my perspective, I will not get carried away by all these innuendos. I think the ruling party, the APC, should focus more on the programmes they’re delivering and fast-track interventions on economic matters,” he said.

Adewale pointed out that the current administration has already begun laying a new foundation for Nigeria’s economy and foreign relations. He highlighted efforts to attract foreign direct investment and to strengthen the country’s educational system as positive steps.

“I understand the pains, but these are birth pangs for a better economy. Nigerians should be patient,” he added.

He drew parallels with Nigeria’s experience during the Structural Adjustment Programme (SAP) in the 1980s and 1990s, recalling how industries collapsed, unemployment soared, and families struggled to afford education. Despite these past challenges, he expressed optimism that the current economic reforms, though tough, would eventually position Nigeria on a path to sustainable growth.

As political activities begin to heat up in preparation for 2027, Adewale’s message was clear: the APC should concentrate on fulfilling its promises to Nigerians rather than getting sidetracked by emerging political alliances.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
