The Labour Party’s 2023 governorship candidate in Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has revealed that he informed and received the approval of Peter Obi, the party’s former presidential candidate, before moving to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Rhodes-Vivour disclosed this on Sunday during an appearance on Politics Today, a programme on Channels Television.

“Yes, certainly. A representative of his was present at my declaration on Saturday. Peter Obi and I are in communication and aligned. Every step I take, he is aware of.

“We all agree that the only path for the opposition to achieve success in 2027 is through a coalition.

“No matter where anyone is positioned right now, we are working towards that collective goal,” he stated.
