2027: FG AGENCY HEADS BEGIN MOBILISATION FOR TINUBU’S RE-ELECTION

Heads of Federal Government agencies, departments and parastatals have begun mobilising support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The development was announced at the maiden meeting of the Forum of PBAT CEOs, held in Abuja, where participating agency heads called for continuity of the administration’s reforms and programmes.

The forum was convened by the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Board for Technology Incubation, Dr Kazeem Raji, under the theme, “Strengthening Collective Leadership, Mobilisation and Support for the Re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the Renewed Hope Agenda.”

Raji said the platform was established to promote collective leadership, coordination, experience-sharing, policy support and mobilisation among presidential appointees heading government institutions.

He described the agency heads as key implementers of the administration’s policies, saying their performance and ability to demonstrate measurable results would influence public perception of the government.

The forum urged members to document and communicate the impact of their agencies’ programmes, including the number of people reached, jobs created, investments attracted and infrastructure delivered.

Raji also called for greater inter-agency collaboration and stronger grassroots engagement through professional networks, communities and other lawful platforms.

He said political participation should be based on persuasion and the presentation of government achievements rather than coercion, stressing that public servants must maintain professionalism while participating in the democratic process.

The forum argued that policy continuity was necessary for long-term reforms to deliver their full benefits and called for the consolidation of programmes already initiated by the Tinubu administration.

Raji cited reforms in areas including fuel subsidy, foreign exchange, taxation, infrastructure, power, education, agriculture, healthcare, technology and digital connectivity as areas where the government was pursuing significant changes.

He urged the agency heads to provide Nigerians with evidence of the impact of these programmes while maintaining professionalism and accountability in their public responsibilities.

The development comes as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections intensify, with various political groups and stakeholders beginning to mobilise support for different candidates.

The forum said its mobilisation efforts would focus on communicating government achievements and making a case for continuity of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
