2027: BISHOP RALLIES NORTHERN CHRISTIANS FOR TINUBU
Bishop John Praise Daniel has called on Christians in northern Nigeria to support President Bola Tinubu’s second-term bid, urging them to put aside denominational, ethnic and political differences.
The General Overseer of Dominion Chapel International spoke at the opening of the national secretariat of Arewa Christians for Tinubu 2027 in Abuja.
Daniel said cooperation would strengthen the group’s mobilisation efforts and help it achieve its political objectives.
“When we are united, there is no impossibility that will stand against us,” he said.
He encouraged members to extend their activities beyond major cities, reaching villages, wards and local government areas to explain the movement’s agenda and build support.
The cleric warned that divisions based on church affiliation or ethnicity could weaken the organisation’s work.
He expressed confidence that members could translate their shared interests into political participation if they remained focused and coordinated.
Explaining his backing for Tinubu, Daniel recalled meeting him in 2022 during the controversy surrounding the APC’s Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket.
The account provided did not include further details of that meeting or the specific commitments that informed his endorsement.
Daniel’s appeal represents his position and that of the support movement, rather than a collective endorsement by northern Christians.
