The All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, on Sunday, set up a reconciliation committee made up of elder statesmen and eminent citizens to address grievances and complaints being raised by some of the aspirants and other key stakeholders during the recently concluded party primaries.

This was in anticipation of the need for fence mending and sustenance of peace and unity after the conclusion of its primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections in the state.

A statement issued by the state Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, in Ibadan, the state capital, listed Senators Olufemi Lanlehin, Brimo Yusuf, and Hosea Agboola, former party chairman, Chief Akin Oke, former Head of Service of the Federation, Prof Afolabi Oladapo, Idris Adeoye, Pa Timothy Jolaoso, widow of the late Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala, Olukemi Alao-Akala, Adebayo Adewusi, Gunju Ojo and Adekemi Opatunde as committee members.

Others are presidential spokesman Sunday Dare, Abisoye Fagade, Kamorudeen Ajisafe, Abu Gbadamosi, Isiaka Alimi, Niran Adeyoju, Yinka Folarin, Emmanuel Olaoye, Mufutau Adisa, Sule Ajibade, Prof Abideen Olaiya, and Dayo Lawal.

Also on the list are Ibrahim Bolomope, Mabel Williams, Jelili Agboola, Kehinde Oloya, Goke Oyetunji, Ramota Okemakinde, Raji Rasaki, Segun Ajanaku, Shakiru Fagunwa, Abduwaheed Lawal, Esther Adedokun and Obatunde Oladapo.

The committee, which is expected to be inaugurated this week by the state chairman of the party and former deputy governor, Moses Adeyemo, will be mandated to reach out to all those who obtained “expression of interest and nomination forms of the APC from Oyo but were unable to secure the party tickets to vie for various elective posts as they desired.”

It was gathered that the state APC candidate, Sharafadeen Alli, on Thursday, June 2, 2026, formally received the Independent National Electoral Commission nomination form, while unveiling Adesoji Adedeji as his running mate for the 2027 governorship election.

Sadare added, “The reconciliation committee, upon its inauguration later this week, would be given the task to meet with all relevant stakeholders, including aspirants who feel dissatisfied with the outcome of the recent primaries, which produced APC candidates for the next general elections.

“It is hoped that this effort would bring about the desired peace and unity for our great party to win big at the polls next year,” he explained.
