The Super Eagles of Nigeria are intensifying preparations in Rabat, Morocco, as 18 players have now joined camp ahead of Thursday’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff against Gabon.

The Nigerian team officially opened camp on Sunday, with training sessions commencing on Monday under the watchful eye of coach Eric Chelle.

Team captain William Troost-Ekong, alongside Calvin Bassey and Benjamin Fredrick, were among those who took part in the opening drills.

Other key players already in camp include Wilfred Ndidi, Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze, Moses Simon, and Stanley Nwabali, who all trained with high spirits as the team gears up for the high-stakes encounter.

The remaining three invited players are expected to join the squad before Thursday’s fixture, which will determine Nigeria’s path toward securing a place in the intercontinental playoffs for the 2026 World Cup.
