2026 WCQ PLAYOFFS: SACRIFICE, PRESSURE KEY – AGHAHOWA SENDS MESSAGE TO SUPER EAGLES
Former Super Eagles striker Julius Aghahowa has urged Eric Chelle’s squad to show maximum commitment as they gear up for a decisive 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying playoff against Gabon.
Aghahowa emphasized that the pressure is immense for Nigeria to secure a spot in next year’s World Cup, noting that the team must approach the playoffs one match at a time.
The Nigeria vs. Gabon clash is set for Thursday evening at the Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan Sports Complex in Rabat, Morocco, with a 5 pm kick-off.
Speaking to AySuga Channel, Aghahowa said:
"We have to take each game as it comes. The next match must be treated as the most important, and after that, the following one becomes the priority. The pressure is high, and every player called up must be fully prepared. They need to be fit, ready to sacrifice, and give 120 percent if we truly want to reach the World Cup."
"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."— Editorial Board
