110 SCHOOL LEADERS TRAINED IN CROSS RIVER

The Cross River State Universal Basic Education Board has trained 110 head teachers and principals as part of efforts to improve school administration and teaching outcomes across the state.

The four-day capacity-building workshop was organised by SUBEB’s Department of Monitoring and Evaluation in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission. It focused on improving school leaders’ understanding of quality assurance procedures and effective school management.

Speaking at the closing ceremony in Calabar, the Executive Chairman of SUBEB, Fedelia Okpo-Ene, stressed the importance of continuous professional development for school leaders.

Represented by Board Member I, Joseph Ogar, she urged the participants to apply the knowledge and skills gained during the training to improve administration and learning outcomes in their respective schools.

The Director of Monitoring and Evaluation, Archibong Okon, also encouraged the participants to put the lessons from the workshop into practice.

He said effective implementation of the training would strengthen leadership and management in schools across the state.

The programme is part of broader efforts to improve educational standards through stronger school leadership, better monitoring and more effective administration.
